What ist GUESSS?
GUESSS stands for Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students‘ Survey.

GUESSS is a research project about the context of Entrepreneurship. Its purpose is to grasp the entrepreneurial intent and activity of students using a geographical and temporal comparison (Project Goals). Data is gathered using an on-line survey.

The first survey wave took place in 2003, and the next wave is planned for Spring 2011. The project lead for GUESSS 2011 is in the hands of the Swiss Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship at the University of St. Gallen (KMU-HSG) in Switzerland (represented by Prof. Dr. Urs Fueglistaller). The responsible project manager is M.A. HSG Philipp Sieger (see also Project Organisation).

The survey is conducted every two years. The core is comprised of reference frameworks including central panel questions that are asked during every international survey (see also Project Goals). The basic framework is supplemented by unique internationally relevant focus questions. Finally, it is also possible to consider individual country-specific questions. The survey is based on a web-based survey and can therefore be conducted very efficiently.

Over the past years, the project has steadily grown (see also Project History). Under Project Organisation, you can take a look at previous and current country representatives. More countries (country representatives) and/or universities can still join the project (see Project Participation).

The results are published in the form of an international final report, national final reports, and other publications such as practicioner, conference, and journal article contributions.
